A heavily field worn & 'been there' private purchase German infantry officers peaked cap by the sought after quality cap maker Peter Kupper whose trademark was ' Pekuro ' . The officers thumb mark can be seen imprinted onto the underside of the peak from constant wear.
Made of fine doeskin material this cap has the distinctive feature of patterned perforations on the forehead area of the sweatband with champagne lining . The celluloid label with 'Pekuro' maker name & 'Stirndruckfrei Deutches ReichsPatent ' is still mostly present. ' Stirndruckfrei ' was a system which reduced forehead pressure for the wearer & is only found in higher quality caps.
