WW2 German M40 Luftwaffe Camouflage Helmet

An M40 Luftwaffe helmet with remains of green , brown & ochre camouflage paint the silhouette of the single Luftwaffe decal being visible on the left side.
This colour scheme is very typical of Luftwaffe camouflage & considered to be an early application similar to the 1938 pattern of camouflage found on boxes & other early equipment items. Having seen much combat service the wear on the helmet is evident with a mid range proportion of the scheme stil remaining. Interior shows heavy wear with a good original 1940 dated & 'Loburg' maker marked chinstrap which has never been off of the helmet.
