WW2 German M31 Messtin With Hand Carved Initials Of Soldier

German M31 aluminium messtin of early war issue with matching soldiers initials carved into the body & lid.
Bottom section of tin marked to side 'CFL39' with top marked 'KCL38' . It is most often the case that makers & dates of top & bottom do not match as they were often mixed up in the field when soldiers were fed collectively by those manning the field kitchens. This set has been together since the war as evidenced by the matching initials in gothic lettering being visible to both parts.
