WW2 German Luftwaffe M35 Double Decal Helmet
A stunning example of a rare M35 configured double decal Luftwaffe helmet .
The helmets size 64 outer shell has a very high percentage of dark blue grey as well as the typical characteristic pattern of eagle found upon late Q maker M35 and early M40 helmets . The 2nd pattern eagle has a wonderful deep ivory tone and is 85 % + complete with some abrasions to the wings . The tricolour is exceptional with the same deep ivory tone and 98% present . Helmet has steel band which is totally correct for this helmet being a late M35 contract run with high '6308' lot number. There is an exact match of this on page 480 of the Brian Ice lot number reference book & an identical example shown in the reference book 'Germany,s Combat helmets 1933/45' by Ken N on pages 48,49 and 50. The liner is good and supple with original draw string . The band is firm and in place with tight unkinked 1940 dated rivets. The chinstrap is well LBA marked with an oval dome stamp clearly visible .
Hard to find such a good example of the DD Luftwaffe.
