WW2 German Luftwaffe M35 Helmet

A classic example of a true workhorse German Luftwaffe non decalled helmet .
The exterior and interior have had a secondary mid blue grey overpaint hand brush applied , this likely indicating a unit level refurb . The simple overpainting would probably further indicate mid to later war work . The liner was clearly left in place while this refinishing took place ,as there are tell tail areas of overpaint upon the liner leather and chinstrap .We estimate this shell to be a 64 but maker and lot number are now obscured by the paint layering . The liner is good and tight with supple leather . The original chinstrap is mounted reversed with the brown face out , this being a typical early Luftwaffe detail .This helmet is in very nice untouched condition and thus makes a good representative example of a true long serving luftwaffe ground troops combat helmet.
