WW1 German M17 Stick Grenade

An excellent example of the M17 stick grenade the last design of WW1 stick grenade used by German forces in WW1.
Complete with its white stencilling ' VOR GEBRAUCH SPRENGKAPSEL EINSETZEN ' ( Before Use Insert Detonator ) still visible to head the factory green paint is 95% visible with belt hook intact. Wooden handle marked with ' 5 1/2 SEK AEG' indicating it has a 5 and a half second fuse the manufacturer being AEG. The bottom star shaped screw cap was a later modification to make unscrewing easier in the mud a problem that had been flagged up after previous actions.
Overall rare item & an excellent example.
