WW2 German Panzer Officers Peaked Cap

A superb 'jaunty' looking private purchase pink piped panzer officers peaked cap by the famous cap maker Pekuro ( Peter Kupper) .
Constructed from fine doeskin wool the caps insignia are in matching 'Leichtmetall' both still firmly affixed to the cap. To the interior of the cap is the earlier style celluloid diamond with retailers name ' W.Thiele Munchen Karlsr.27'. When one examines the cap several features indicate its origins from Pekuro the main one being the velvet band sewn between the sweatband & the cap body this a system designed by Pekuro to relieve pressure on the forehead when in wear. The grey leather sweatband , zig zag stitching & grey rayon lining are also highly typical of Pekuro manufactured caps.
Having survived in overall excellent condition this is very much a field worn cap & shows some tears in places to the sweatband which has stiffened with age. There is a tiny hardly noticeable moth nip to the pink piping at front top of green band & a 3cm surface moth track to top of the cap.
