WW2 German Named M40 Normandy Camouflage Luftwaffe Helmet
A heavily worn German M40 three colour camouflage helmet with remains of its thick tan , brown & green heavily granulated spray paint to sides.
It is quite evident that this helmet has seen much combat wear with damaged areas in the paint revealing its Luftwaffe blue grey factory paint finish underneath . All three liner pins are totally undisturbed & original to the helmet with its liner showing heavy grime inlay & wear commensurate to that of the shell. German soldiers name 'Reinbold' handwritten to liner. The original drawstring is still present. The maker & size 'ET64' denote the factory Eisenhuettenwerke, Thale with size 64. Lot number ' 1021' to rear of shell. Chinstrap remains in place with grey painted steel buckle although the long strap is minus its end section.
Overall a well fielded camouflage combat helmet with remains of what wa sonce a very distinct Normandy camouflage scheme.
