WW2 German M42 Helmet - Named To An Unteroffizier
A textbook large sized M42 German combat helmet complete with original 1942 dated chinstrap.
This helmet retains a very high proportion of its original rough grey finish to exterior , all three liner pins are totally undisturbed & original to the helmet. Interior bears the markings to rear of skirt 'ckl66' with batch number '3780' . The maker marking 'ckl' replaced the 'ET' marking as of February 1943 when ckl marked M42 production began. This helmet was never fitted with a decal the non decalled M42 era beginning at the end of August 1943. Interestingly this helmet was issued but has has seen very minimal wear with the name of an Unteroffizier written onto the liner. Light wear traces can be seen around the forehead area however it appears that the owner only wore it minimally before his war ended. Finally the chinstrap grey painted buckle is in excellent condition with leather of the strap supple & again only minimally worn. Maker marked to end with date 1942.
