WW2 German M31 Messtin - Matching Maker

Standard M31 messtin as used by soldiers of the Wehrmacht & Waffen SS .There is a symbol & name scratched into the paint of the lid which apparently relates to a French Resistance unit by whom it was used. Marked 'WAL40' to lid & 'WAL39' to body.
