WW2 German Infantry Officers Visor Cap
A good early quality privately purchased infantry officers visor cap with national insignia to front & officer double corded chinstrap.
Constructed from fine doeskin material with white piping both wreath & eagle are still firm to the cap. To interior the celluoid diamond is still present on its champagne lining this matching in colour to that of the underside of the peak. Moderate wear evident. Embossed onto the diamond are the details of 'Hans Defen , Uniforme Schneidere- Militar-Effekten OBERSTEIN' ( Uniform tailoring- Military accoutrements ) . To the forehead area of the leather sweatband are perforations for ventilation again indicating the expense of this cap.
Exterior is in very good order with just a couple of minor nips to lower portion of the caps band upon which the chinstrap sits over.
