WW2 German Luftwaffe Camouflage M35 Double Decal Helmet
A Luftwaffe M35 double decal camoufage helmet with its second pattern Luftwaffe eagle painted around & national shield still visible under the paint on opposite side.
A large sized '66' helmet this classic camouflage pattern is of three tone with reddish brown , forest green & tan ochre having been applied over its factory blue paint finish. These colours are still distinctive with the Luftwaffe factory blue visible in places. The Luft eagle has painted around & not 'dug out' with the national shield still present underneath the tan ochre camouflage paint that lightly covers it. There is some writing scratched into the paint on the shield this believed to be from the US veteran who brought it back. All three liner rivets are totally original to the helmet with matching camouflage paint visible on each. Underside of rim bears the factory code & size 'SE66' with lot number '101' . The reinforced aluminium liner is Berlin maker marked & dated 1938. Liner appears to have received an application of leather preserver at some point in its life. Original tightening string still present to tongues. Chinstrap is of the correct brown luftwaffe issue with Dresden maker to pointed end & date 1938.
