WW2 German Camouflage M35 Army Helmet With Remains Of Camouflage Net

An untouched German Army M35 double decal helmet with a small part of its former camouflage net still attached to liner band .
An early issue helmet that has had a rough textured grey paint applied to the exterior as per 1940 specifications this covering the national shield . It is interesting to note that the underside of the rim also received an overpaint there being the 'ghost' outline of a previous name to an 'Uffz' under the paint at the rear. All three liner rivets are original to the helmet which , interestingly , also has an M40 steel banded liner this & the previous erased name suggesting reissue to another soldier at some point in its wartime service. Interior liner has extensive wear with a hadnwritten name of what appears to be ' O.Grunwald ' . There is heavy sweat staining with a tear to rear portion . Chinstrap has grey painted steel buckle & is partially minus with a section of the buckle end missing. The single piece of twine netting remaining is wrapped around the front part of the liner this most likely removed by the US veteran who took it as a souvenir before returning it to the States where it was discovered some years later.
